24 Hour Play Festival Assignments

1/26/2015

Ladies and Gentleman; Boys and Girls; Brothers and Sisters!

First, a challenge: each team (Writers, Director, Actors from each play and the Crew Team) competes for the grand prize. Whichever of the 6 teams brings in the most donations at the Festival will be crowned Play Fest Royalty!

Tell your parents, your friends, your neighbors, your pets to come out on Saturday, January 31 at 7pm with their hearts and their wallets open. The money raised helps offset the cost of the Illinois High School Theatre Fest, and purchase needed supplies for Warren Theatre. Even though you don't know your teammates yet, start talking it up and get a leg up on the competition

Here are your assignments and call times for Warren Theatre's First 24 Hour Play Festival at the Almond Black Box Theatre!

Scheduling
Sign up for your time availability. Look at your schedule and the 24 Hour Theatre schedule. Choose a role according to your schedule and time availabilty. Example: If you have a busy Saturday, maybe try to be a writer so that you don't have to come all day Saturday. We would like you to be there as much as possible but we understand if you have to come and go.

Roles/Responsibilities
Try something new! To be a Thespian you need to have various roles on your Warren Theatre resume.
  • 5-8 Writers/Teams
  • 5-8 Directors
  • 5-8 Stage Managers
  • 25-40 Actors (5 per show)
  • Crews (Costumes, Front of House, Light, Sound, Props)

Preference of Roles
Hopefully everyone will get the role they would like to have, but if a tie breaker is needed, Thespians will get preference and then seniority gets preference.

Food
Dinner will be provided on Saturday, January 31st, but you must bring your own lunch/breakfast.

Any questions? Ask your directors!

Some last minute info for you as we prepare to head out to the great world of TheatreFest.

IMPORTANT - please e-mail Mr. Miller (amiller@wths.net) to let him know you read this information. See below for info to include in the e-mail.

Download the Illinois High School Theatre Fest App:
NEW APP – In an effort to be as green as possible, the IHSTF now has an app for all Apple and Android devices! The program booklet will still have a “Festival at a Glance” section that can be pulled out, but all descriptions of workshops and productions can only be found on the app or can be printed from the Festival website (www.illinoistheatrefest.org). Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search for “Illinois High School Theatre Festival” to download the app today.

We are scheduled to see the Opening Performance at 8:30pm on Thursday and we will see Pippin' at 7:15pm on Friday. Please note that as you are contemplating your schedules.
